I have been staying in the Manly area of Sydney about a 30 minute ferry ride from Circular Quay where the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are. The hostel I have been staying in is rather grotty around the edges, but the location is good with nothing more than a 10 minute walk away, with beaches for both the ocean and the harbour in close proximity. On my first evening, I went out with Roger and the family to celebrate my cousin Abby’s 24th Birthday and we had a really nice meal at a restaurant topped off with a few beers. We spent the rest of the evening, comparing stories which I won’t go into here, about misbehaving adolesence and trying to figure out whether the Australian or UK Moir’s were worst! I think its close run thing, but the UK just edged it thanks to some rather gross stories they all knew about Nick and a fridge in his university days! The following day I went out into Sydney and did some exploring saw all the sights, met up with Stuart again in the afternoon for more sightseeing, before heading back to my hostel to freeze my pants off in my unheated and very cold dorm! I had planned to see Bondi Beach the following day with some guys from the hostel, but …
