Globetrotters’s travel blog entry: “Happy birthday, Michael! We are on our way to Bermuda. Everytime we get ready for another trip, Cleo gets sad. Somehow she knows we are about to leave her behind again. So on our way to the airport, we drop off Cleo for boarding and somehow find ourselves helping a woman capture her unleashed dog, who has gotten away from her (good deeds and kindness to others go a long way), before leaving Cleo presented Michael with some flowers, with a surprise look on his face, she assured him these were not peed on before picked and besides she found a basket at a neighbor’s houose to place them in…..nice gift michael thought…… then off to the airport we go. We arrive in plenty of time to enjoy a beverage from Starbuck’s before boarding our 2 ½-hour flight to Bermuda. The LF Wade International Airport is colorful, bright, and clean and we’re greeted by a trio of “musicians” singing and playing instruments along to pre-recorded music featuring oldies, but goodies. Easy going through customs, then out to our awaiting shuttle van, which we arranged days earlier. Our driver, Herman, takes us on the 45-minute drive to 9 Beaches Resort. The drive through the island reveals some beautiful scenery, reminiscent of the Bahamas or Jamaica, with lovely views of the beaches …

He gained attention in the golfing world in 1976, when at the age of 19 he finished second at the British Open. A member of a gifted golfing family, Ballesteros won five major championships between 1979 and 1988, the British Open three times, and The Masters twice. He was also successful in the Ryder Cup, helping the European team to five wins both as a player and captain, and won the World Match Play Championship a record-tying five times. He is best known for his great short game, and his erratic driving of the golf ball. He is generally regarded as the greatest Spanish golfer of all time. Because of back-related injuries, Ballesteros struggled with form during the 1990s. In spite of this, he continued to be involved in the game of golf, creating the Seve Trophy and running a golf course design business. Ballesteros eventually retired from competitive golf in 2007 because of continued poor form, and in 2008 was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. After reports that Ballesteros would make a return to the spotlight at the 2010 Open Championship, following the advice of doctors, he did not travel to St Andrews in 2010 for the Open Championship.
